Meet The Four
Generations
The significance
of the term generation is so much
more than a grouping of
people who were born within a similar
time frame. Each generation shares
common experiences during formative
years. These events not only forge
the bonds of common experience -
but also serve to generate a somewhat
common point of view of life. They
shape attitudes on a larger scale.
They create a group identity
that influences individual behavior
and values systems.
So to get to know
a generation, you need to know a
whole lot more
than its current life stage. Each
generation's shared history gives
it a sense of context from which
it tends to view the world and which
becomes enormously significant in
understanding it.
Take a look at the brief profiles
of the four generations. Get to know
them better. It's fun and it can
begin to give you a whole new way
of looking at yourself -- and the
people around you.
